Officer Jim Ardwan is the
community policing officer for the area in which the Veterans Memorial
Senior Center is located. Officer Ardwan is currently on patrol but will be
returning to his regular district within a few weeks. Supervisor Mannia
explained about the recent break-in problems at the Center and also
mentioned two parking problems occurring in the Center's parking lot.
Officer Mateo agreed with Supervisor Mannia that it would be helpful to
schedule a meeting with Officer Ardwan to further discuss the break-in issue.
He suggested contacting Traffic Engineer Mike Vroman of the City's
Community Development Department regarding the installation of red
zones or other parking requirements. Officer Garcia stated that once a parking
regulation is established, the Police Department will enforce it by citing the
violator.
