NPDES is being administered by
each State and the cities in San Mateo County have joined together to
develop their own program called San Mateo Countywide Stormwater
Pollution Prevention Program (STOPPP). STOPPP is a 2-3 years old program
which consists of five components: Public Information/Participation,
Municipal Maintenance, Illicit Discharge, New Development and
Construction, Commercial/Industrial. Director Ingram reported that the
municipal maintenance component is the focus of the General Services
Department.
