SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,JUNE 13, 1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Lloyd, Commissioners <br /> Anthony, Capone, Harrison, and Moran <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Newell and Walsh <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Executive Director Maria Bransford,TEWCI <br /> Chairperson Ed Becks <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno,Supervisor Linda <br /> Griffith,and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order at 3:04 pm <br /> by Chairperson Lloyd at the Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street,Redwood City, <br /> California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the April meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was no correspondence. <br /> ITEM 1 -GUEST SPEAKER FROM HOSPICE AND HOME HEALTH CARE <br /> Supervisor Griffith reported she was unable to confirm a speaker from the Mid- <br /> Peninsula Hospice and Home Health Care to speak at our meeting. Chairperson <br /> Lloyd agreed to make contact with 2 hospice speakers and work with staff to schedule <br /> an appropriate meeting date. <br /> ITEM 2-DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION ON TEWCI PROPOSAL <br /> Superintendent Centeno reported on her letter to TEWCI Executive Director Maria <br /> Bransford regarding the Housing and Human Concerns Committee's <br /> recommendation to allocate $30,000 in funding to TEWCI in fiscal year 96-97. The <br /> letter recommended that TEWCI be given$15,000 of their funding and an REP would <br /> be sent out to look at possible providers of senior services for the Fair Oaks Senior <br /> Center. Superintendent Centeno said she,met with TEWCI Executive Director Maria <br /> Bransford and the TEWCI Board President to further discuss the letter and it was <br />
