SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1997 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Walsh, Commissioners <br /> Anthony, Harrison, Lloyd, Moran, Newell (arrived 3:15pm), <br /> and Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Executive Director Maria Bransford, Building Inspector <br /> Jerry Schnell <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Manager Linda <br /> Griffith, and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order <br /> by Chairperson Leo Walsh at 3:05pm at the Fair Oaks Senior Center, 2600 <br /> Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the January meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was no correspondence. <br /> ITEM 1-UPDATES <br /> -TEWCI <br /> Superintendent Centeno reported the TEWCI funding request will go to City <br /> Council on February 24. She noted the TEWCI landscape project has begun <br /> and will be completed within the next few months. Executive Director Maria <br /> Bransford discussed the types of senior service providers the Fair Oaks Senior <br /> Center would be interested in housing under the RFP proposal. <br /> -Veterans Memorial Senior Center Operations Review <br /> Commissioner Anthony stated the committee reviewed the condition of the <br /> various buildings comprising the Veterans Memorial Senior Center and has <br /> identified repair work that needs to be done. Manager Griffith noted that the <br /> patio area has been inspected by a building inspector and it was determined <br /> this area is not a safety issue. Commissioner Anthony said the committee <br /> will also be making an inventory of all the chairs and tables in the facility. He <br /> also discussed the committee's inspection of the Little Theater. <br /> Superintendent Centeno suggested having Commissioner Anthony discuss <br />
