SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,JUNE 12, 1997 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Vice Chairperson Moran, Commissioners <br /> Anthony, Lloyd, and Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Chairperson Walsh, Commissioners Harrison <br /> and Newell <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order <br /> by Vice Chairperson Betty Moran at 3:00pm at the Fair Oaks Senior Center, <br /> 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Walsh did not believe there was general agreement that the <br /> downtown lunch series would be held at the Franklin Street Cafe as noted in <br /> the April minutes. <br /> M/S Lloyd/Anthony: To approve the May minutes with the exception of the <br /> statement that the Franklin Street Cafe had been confirmed as a <br /> site for the lunch. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner Anthony distributed a two page summary of his committee's <br /> report on the Veterans Memorial Senior Center operations review. He stated <br /> he would complete the report and mail to all Commissioners at least two <br /> weeks prior to the next Commission meeting. <br /> Commissioner Anthony shared a thank you letter and picture he received <br /> from students at John Gill School for his work on Measure A. <br /> ITEM 1-UPDATES/REPORTS <br /> a.) Redwood City 2000 Report <br /> Vice Chairperson Moran explained that she has participated on the <br /> Community Action Team of Redwood City 2000 for the past year. The <br /> Commissioners watched the video prepared after the Redwood City 2000 <br /> Town Hall meeting. The meeting was attended by almost 200 people. <br />
