SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1998 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Walsh, Commissioners <br /> Borgens, Moran, Nobles, and Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Carpe and Harrison <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno <br /> and Manager Linda Griffith <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to <br /> order by Chairperson Leo Walsh at 9:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial <br /> Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Borgens/Lloyd: To approve the minutes of the October 8, 1998 <br /> meeting as mailed. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Debbi Jones-Thomas, Housing Coordinator, reported on the following <br /> items: <br /> • The City will not be floating bonds on behalf of the Woodside <br /> Terrace Group. As a result, the City will not receive the in <br /> lieu fee of $2.1 million. <br /> • The Housing and Human Concerns Committee has set aside <br /> $18,000 for an Emergency Tenant Assistance Program. To <br /> date they have received only one response to administer <br /> these funds. The Committee is looking for input on the best <br /> way to use these funds. The Committee expanded the scope <br /> of its emergency housing assistance program. <br /> • Mayor has requested that the Housing and Human Concerns <br /> Committee establish a Senior Housing Sub-Committee with at <br /> least one representative of the Senior Affairs Commission. <br /> The Sub Committee would be charged with developing a plan <br /> for how to deal with: <br />
