Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Grove <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Frank Harrison, Jack Dempsey, Ed Lee, <br /> Naga Rathnam, S. Rathnam, Mike Viega, Britt Callaway <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Manager Linda Griffith, Manager Jan Knight, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Jean Harrison at 1:00pm in the Conference Room of the <br /> Sandpiper Community Center, 797 Redwood Shores Parkway, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S M. Walsh/Carpe: To approve the March minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -The Commissioners received a copy of the March activity report from the <br /> Fair Oaks Senior Center. <br /> ITEM 1 - OPEN FORUM TO HEAR FROM REDWOOD SHORES <br /> RESIDENTS ON SENIOR ISSUES <br /> Chairperson Harrison advised the audience that the Commission was <br /> interested in hearing comments from Redwood Shores residents on senior <br /> issues and asked people to speak on this topic. The following comments <br /> were received: <br /> -Would like to see an exercise room with weights and other items which <br /> would be open anytime for use by the public; Red Morton Center is too far to <br /> travel <br /> -Would like to see a tennis backboard for individuals to use, like the one at <br /> Red Morton. Suggestion to place the backboard near the baseball field at <br /> Sandpiper Park <br /> -I am active at San Mateo Senior Center and would like to see senior trips <br /> offered like to Las Vegas and other destinations <br />
