SENIOR AFFAIRS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2001 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Harrison, Commissioners <br /> Borgens, Carpe (arrived 1:17pm), Grove, <br /> Moran, L. Walsh and M. Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Frank Harrison, Jack Dempsey, Britt <br /> Callaway <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Manager Linda Griffith, Secretary <br /> Denise Monroe, Administrative Clerk Kathy Bede, Senior <br /> Services Specialist Marlene Annuzzi <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Jean Harrison at 1:04pm in the Redwood Room of the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Moran/M.Walsh: To approve the April minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Commissioner Moran received a letter from La Raza Centro Legal which was <br /> read to the Commission. La Raza offers free legal assistance to seniors and <br /> they wanted the Commission to be aware of the service they are providing. <br /> -Chairperson Harrison spoke to Nancy Radcliffe from the Downtown Task <br /> Force who stated that the Task Force will be making a presentation to the <br /> Council on May 30 at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers. The Commissioners <br /> decided to have the Downtown Task Force make its presentation to the <br /> Commission at its July 12 meeting. <br /> ITEM 1 — SENIOR SERVICES PRESENTATION — MARLENE ANNUZZI <br /> Manager Linda Griffith introduced Senior Services Specialist Marlene Annuzzi <br /> to the Commission. Marlene now works 40 hours per week at the Senior <br /> Center and her salary is funded by the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> Advisory Council. Marlene provided some background on herself and spoke <br /> about her memories of her grandfather. She reviewed the mission statement <br /> of the senior services program and provided each of the Commissioners with <br /> an information folder containing details on all senior services. <br />
