Walsh <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Carpe <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Helen Cocco, Dorothy Hall, Susan Houston, Jim Leahy, <br /> David Nelson, Ethel Robinson, Danny Sanchez and <br /> Vincent Truscelli <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Manager Linda Griffith, Recreation Supervisor Yelena <br /> Devyatova and Administrative Clerk Kathy Bede <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Jean Harrison at 1:05pm in the Goldstar Room of the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center, 1455 Madison Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S L. Walsh/Moran: To approve the October minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Linda Griffith read a letter from June Gilmore of the City of Galt, offering <br /> advice and support in regard to establishing a shuttle service in Redwood <br /> City. Ms. Gilmore worked to establish a transit system in that community. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Commissioner Moran reported that Phase 1 of the Downtown Area Plan Draft <br /> was impressively presented to Council at their last meeting. Six copies were <br /> available to the Commissioners with a request to review and comment on. <br /> Commissioners Borgens and M. Walsh attended that Council meeting and <br /> reported that the draft is of the Task Force's vision of downtown's future and <br /> has gone to the Planning Commission for their approval. <br /> ITEM 1 — GUEST SPEAKER — DAVE NELSON <br /> Dave Nelson, Interim Director and Programs Manager of the Peninsula <br /> Congestion Relief Alliance, which is a public agency compiled by 15 cities on <br /> the Peninsula seeking to ease traffic problems in the area. The Alliance is <br /> funded by the San Mateo County Traffic Authority and works with money <br /> from the EPA and Bay Area Air Quality. <br />
