2 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that accredited representatives from the cities of San <br /> Francisco , Los Angeles and the East Bay Municipal Utility District be and they are hereby <br /> authorized and renuested,in the name of the City of Redwood City to protest any such tax. <br /> Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meet- <br /> ing thereof held on the 3d day of January , 1933 , by the following vote : <br /> Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution : Councilmen , H. A. <br /> Beeger , C . J. Hildebrant , R . N. Jones , P . A. McCarthy , G. W. McNulty , W. J. Dusel . <br /> Noes and against the passage of the foregoing Resolution : Councilmen , None . <br /> Absent : Councilman , C . G. Lanbert . <br /> WILLIAM J . DUSEL <br /> Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br /> Attest : <br /> B . E . MYERS <br /> Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br /> I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution this 3d day of January , 1933 . <br /> WILLIAM J . DUSEL <br /> Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br /> Councilman Jones asked whether or not the money remaining in the Hudson Street Bridge Fund could be used <br /> to spread rock to make the street more available. The City Engineer was instructed to investigate <br /> on the basis of a 20—ft . roadway . <br /> Councilman Jones also brought up the subject of paying taxes on a quarterly basis , and as the idea <br /> seemed to meet with considerable favor , he offered a resolution , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , <br /> directing the League of California Municipalities to sponsor a bill whereby counties and cities <br /> under general law could arrange for a quarterly payment of taxes . <br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the present method <br /> of collecting taxes in two sri--annual installments should be amended to provide <br /> and permit the payment of taxes in quarterly installments instead of semi—annuual <br /> installments; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the <br /> League of California Municipalities , with a request that they use their efforts <br /> to have the present law amended so as to permit counties and cities operating under <br /> the general laws to collect their taxes quarterly . <br /> I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly passed <br /> and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 3rd day of January , <br /> 1933 , by the following vote : <br /> Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution , <br /> Councilmen : H. A. Beeger , C . J . Hildebrant , R. N. Jones , P . A. McCarthy , G. W. <br /> -McNulty , W . J.
