ORIGIfV�� <br /> REVOCABLE ENCROACHMENT PERMIT <br /> REVOCABLE ENCROACHMENT PERMIT FOR THE CONTINUED OPERATION, <br /> AND MAINTENANCE OF TWO REPLACEABLE MESSAGE SIGNS <br /> , (REDWOOD SHORES COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION) <br /> This Sign Encroachment Permit ("Permit") is effective as of Z, 2015, is <br /> made by and befinreen the City of Redwood City ("City") and the Redwood S ores Community <br /> Association ("Permittee"). <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. Permittee has applied for a Revocable Encroachment Permit for continued <br /> operation and maintenance of the reader board message signs (the "Signs") and associated <br /> components within a 200 square feet area located in the city street medians of Redwood <br /> Sho�es Parkway and Marine Parkway as identified more particularly in Exhibits "A" and "B°, <br /> attached hereto and incorporated by reference (the"Property°). <br /> B. Article III of Chapter 3 of the Redwood City Municipal Code prohibits permanent <br /> private signs on public property unless specifically allowed pursuant to that Article or unless <br /> falling within an exemption. An exemption allows that "permanent signs which were erected in <br /> the past on public land in conformance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations then in <br /> � <br /> effect may remain in the same location so long as they are not expanded and are properly <br /> repaired and maintained." (RCMC §3.150(B)) Any sign falling within this exemption is exempted <br /> from the sign permit requirement as determined by the Administrator who is the City Manager <br /> or his/her designee provided the owner agrees to abide by City policies and any special terms <br /> or conditions which may be stated on the permit and to abide by any new or different conditions <br /> which may be imposed on permittees who are similarly situated. (RCMC §§3.147 and 3.144) <br /> C. Staff has determined that the subject Signs were installed on private property in <br /> the 1970s by the "Master Developer" for the Redwood Shores planned community pursuant to <br /> S:ATTY/PERMIT2015.001/REVOCABLE REDWOOD SHORES COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION <br /> REV:0410-15 PT <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br />
