CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, APRIL 4, 2002 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Dale, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Britschgi (arrived 7:10pm), Douglas, Kushin <br /> and Soultanian <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Del Carlo <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Edward Rosenstiel, Joyce Rosenstiel, Bob Parkhurst, <br /> Andy Frisch, Patrick Weldon, Michael Hall <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Warren Dale at 7:05pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Ball/Douglas: To approve the March minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -A variety of newsletters and announcements were received. No action <br /> required. <br /> ITEM 1 — GRANT REQUESTS <br /> Sequoia Art Group <br /> Edward Rosenstiel of the Sequoia Art Group spoke regarding their $450.00 <br /> grant request to purchase additional art display units which will be used at <br /> the 2002 Spring Art Show. Mr. Rosenstiel explained the art show has been <br /> opened up to more middle school students, and as a result, more art display <br /> units are needed to display the work. He noted they would probably increase <br /> the number of cash prizes to the students. <br /> M/S Britschgi/Kushin: To grant $450.00 to the Sequoia Art Group. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Redwood City School District <br /> No representative was present for this grant request. <br />
