CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2002 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Dale, Commissioners Ayala, <br /> Britschgi, Douglas, Kushin, Watanabe, Williams <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Mary Garritsen, Mary Jensen, Julie Mooney, Henry Use, <br /> Bob Slusser, Eddie Rosenstiel, Bob Parkhurst, G. H. <br /> Armour, Toni Carner, Millie Cole <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> Director Corinne Centeno administered the oath of office to new <br /> Commissioners Adal Ayala, Kay Whiting Watanabe and Donna Collins <br /> Williams. <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Warren Dale at 7:04pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Kushin/Douglas: To approve the August minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. (Yes-4, Abstain-3 Ayala, Watanabe, Williams) <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Letters were received from Peninsula Children's Theatre Association, <br /> Montalvo, San Mateo County Historical Museum, Bay Shore Lyric Opera, <br /> Redwood Shores Homeowners Association and Redwood City Education <br /> Foundation thanking the Commission for their large grants. <br /> -Several newsletters and flyers were received from various sources. <br /> -Newspaper article from Redwood City Daily News noting the Commission's <br /> support of the John Gill arts program. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Toni Carner, a former art teacher with the Sequoia Adult School, presented a <br /> Ralph Ledesma watercolor and offered it for sale to the Commission. This <br /> item will be placed on the October agenda for further discussion. <br /> The new Commissioners were provided with a copy of the November 5, 1998 <br /> meeting minutes which detailed the process the Commission adopted to <br /> handle public input at its meetings. <br />
