CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2002 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Dale, Commissioners Ayala, <br /> Britschgi, Douglas, Kushin, Williams <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Watanabe <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Adilah Haqq, Teri Chin, Henry Use, Anilise Hyllmon, <br /> John Levinson, Rene Vaughn, Russ Lawlor <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Warren Dale at 7:04pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The October minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following pieces of correspondence was received: <br /> -Several newsletters and flyers were received from various organizations <br /> -A letter from Toni Carner regarding the Ledesma painting she offered to sell <br /> the Commission and three appraisals of the art work. This item will be <br /> discussed under Item 1. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Henry Use of ARTshare thanked the Commission for their grant to help fund <br /> Kidz Art Day and reported on the successful event. Mr. Use also invited the <br /> Commissioners to attend the opening of a new ARTshare gallery at 32 West <br /> 25th Avenue, San Mateo on November 14 from 12:00-1:30pm. <br /> • <br /> ITEM 1 — DECISION ON PURCHASE OF LEDESMA PAINTING <br /> The Commission discussed the purchase of the Ledesma painting offered by <br /> Toni Carner and the purchase price. Commissioner Kushin inquired about <br /> having the art work hung in Room 1. <br /> M/S Britschgi/Douglas: To purchase the Ledesma painting for $500.00 <br /> Motion withdrawn by maker and seconder. <br />
