• rlt■ .Y' 3s7 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 3 , 193g 8 : 00 P . M. Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present : Councilmen L. C . Christensen, J . M . Eva , E . A. Fletcher , Wm . Hohn , R . N . Jones , G. W. McNulty , and City Clerk B . E . Myers . Tardy , Mayor Paul A . McCarthy , who came in later . In the absence of Mayor McCarthy at the opening of the meeting , Councilman Eva was chosen Chairman Pro Tem. The minutes of the meeting of December 20 were approved on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Hohn. Lascurettes 1904 El Camino Real El Camino Restaurant 2333 El Camino Real Little Mary' s Sandwich Shop 934 Main Street New Life Coffee Shop 858 Main Street Sequoia Club Coffee Shop 810 Main Street Pete & Mary' s Place 2826 El Camino Real Gordon Seely 207 + Broadway After filing Affidavit of Publication , Ordinance No . 403 , regulating camp cars or trailers , was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , proposed adoption of resolution requesting that the designation of "U . S . 101 " be again placed on El Camino Real , omitting the word "Alternate !' as at present . Unanimously carried. The City Assessor called attention to request of the Veterans ' Welfare Board for can- cellation of taxes on Lots 20 in Block 29 and 13 in Block 42 , Redwood Highlands . It was established that these lots were owned by private persons until July , 1937 , when they were taken over by the Veterans ' Board . It was accordingly decided , on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Hohn, that the taxes for the fiscal year 1937.3g should not be cancelled , and the Tax Collector was instructed to make collection of the amounts shown on the records .
