RESOLUTION NO. 16-05 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING <br />THAT THE PROPOSED PROJECT LOCATED AT 801 <br />BREWSTER AVENUE WILL NOT CAUSE A SUBSTANTIAL <br />ADVERSE CHANGE IN THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE <br />ADJACENT HISTORIC RESOURCE LOCATED AT 530 WARREN <br />STREET, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 2.1.4.D.1 OF <br />REDWOOD CITY'S DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN; NOR WILL IT <br />CAUSE A SUBSTANTIAL ADVERSE CHANGE IN THE <br />SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MEZESVILLE HISTORIC DISTRICT OR <br />THE POTENTIAL HISTORIC RESOURCES LOCATED AT 840 <br />BREWSTER AVENUE AND 701 ARGUELLO STREET <br />WHEREAS, Applicant, Anton Development Co., has applied for a <br />Downtown Planned Community Permit for the construction of a new 379,500 <br />square foot residential building, consisting of 4 to 6 -stories and 250 units (the <br />Project), which is adjacent to a historic resource identified in the Downtown <br />Precise Plan as a "Historic Resources to be Preserved;" and <br />WHEREAS, under Section 2.1.4.D.1 of the Downtown Precise Plan <br />(DTPP), projects on properties located directly adjacent to an historic property as <br />designated on the Historic Resources Preservation Regulations Map shall be <br />reviewed by a qualified architect or architectural historian for potential impacts to <br />the adjacent historic resource and by the City's Historic Resources Advisory <br />Committee (HRAC) for its potential impacts on the adjacent historic resource; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the project site is located adjacent to the historic property <br />located at 530 Warren Street as depicted on the Historic Resources Preservation <br />Regulations Map; and <br />WHEREAS, the project is also located adjacent to the Mezesville Historic <br />District, and 840 Brewster Avenue and 701 Arguello Street which are two <br />properties identified as Potential Historic Resources in the DTPP Area of <br />Influence; and <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant hired Richard Brandi, a qualified Architectural <br />Historian listed on the City's list of Qualified Historical Consultants, to analyze <br />potential impacts to the historic resource located at 530 Warren Street, the <br />Mezesville Historic District, and the potential historic resources located at 840 <br />Brewster Avenue and 701 Arguello Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the City hired Page & Turnbull, a qualified Architectural <br />Historian firm listed on the City's list of Qualified Historical Consultants, to <br />provide additional analysis of the potential impacts to the historic resource <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />ATTY/RESO.0108/HRAC RESO 801 BREWSTER <br />REV: 11-14-161S <br />
