RESOLUTION NO. 18-02 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY <br /> COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING <br /> APPROVAL OF AN ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT UNION CEMETERY <br /> TO CONSTRUCT AN INFORMATIONAL KIOSK AND FINDING THAT <br /> THE PROJECT MEETS THE PERMIT APPROVAL CRITERIA UNDER <br /> THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCE <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic Union Cemetery Association (Applicant), has applied for <br /> an Architectural Permit to construct an informational kiosk (Project) at Union Cemetery <br /> (APN: 053-301-010) in Redwood City, California; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Project presents two options for orientation of the kiosk (Option <br /> A and B) as shown in the staff report, and requests that the Historic Resources Advisory <br /> Committee (HRAC) provide input; and <br /> WHEREAS, Union Cemetery is a designated California State Landmark, is on <br /> the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Redwood City Landmark; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the City Code) <br /> requires that the HRAC review all improvements to designated historic landmarks; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article 45 of the Zoning Ordinance requires that all exterior site <br /> improvements to nonresidential uses requires the review and approval of an <br /> Architectural Permit; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 1, 2018, a public hearing notice was published in The San <br /> Mateo City Daily Journal and mailed to interested parties and all property owners within <br /> 300 feet of the Property; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the HRAC held a duly noticed public hearing in <br /> accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and <br /> the Redwood City Municipal Code, to consider the application; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the HRAC fully reviewed, considered, and <br /> evaluated the staff reports prepared for the Project including the attachments to the staff <br /> ATTY/RES0.0055/HRAC RESO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT UNION CEMETERY <br /> REV:06-08-18 PR <br /> Page 1of6 <br />
