RESOLUTION NO. 18-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF AN ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT UNION CEMETERY TO CONSTRUCT AN INFORMATIONAL KIOSK AND FINDING THAT THE PROJECT MEETS THE PERMIT APPROVAL CRITERIA UNDER THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the Historic Union Cemetery Association (Applicant), has applied for an Architectural Permit to construct an informational kiosk (Project) at Union Cemetery (APN: 053-301-010) in Redwood City, California; and WHEREAS, the Project presents two options for orientation of the kiosk (Option A and B) as shown in the staff report, and requests that the Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) provide input; and WHEREAS, Union Cemetery is a designated California State Landmark, is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Redwood City Landmark; and WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the City Code) requires that the HRAC review all improvements to designated historic landmarks; and WHEREAS, Article 45 of the Zoning Ordinance requires that all exterior site improvements to nonresidential uses requires the review and approval of an Architectural Permit; and WHEREAS, on June 1, 2018, a public hearing notice was published in The San Mateo City Daily Journal and mailed to interested parties and all property owners within 300 feet of the Property; and WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the HRAC held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Municipal Code, to consider the application; and WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the HRAC fully reviewed, considered, and evaluated the staff reports prepared for the Project including the attachments to the staff ATTY/RES0.0055/HRAC RESO RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT UNION CEMETERY REV:06-08-18 PR Page 1of6
