DES : em: 4/20/69 <br />JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT <br />CITY OF BELMON'A", CIYY OF RrDWOOD CITY AND CITY <br />OF SAN CARLOS <br />THIS, AGREEMENT, dated for convenience as, of P -,e 245, <br />--T <br />W <br />by and between the CITY OF BELMONT ("Belmont"), a general law <br />city, the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ("Redwood City"), a chartered <br />city, and the CITY OF SAN CARLOS ("San Carlos"), a general law <br />city, each duly organized and existing in the County of San h1,ateo <br />(the "county"), State of California (the "State") under the <br />constitution and laws of the State (Belmont, Redwood City, and <br />San Carlos being herein together called the "cities"), <br />WITNESSETB: <br />IMEREAS, each of the narties hereto has power to acquire, <br />construct, complete and operate sewage collection, interceptor <br />and outfall lines and plants and facilities for the treatment <br />and disposal of sewage; and the cities propose by this agreement <br />to exercise said power jointly for the purpose of providing for <br />the more efficient disposal of the sewage produced in each city, <br />all to the economic and financial advantage of each city and <br />otherwise for the benefit or each city; and each of the cities <br />is willing to plan with the other cities for future joint sewage <br />treatment and disposal facilities which will protect all of the <br />NOW, TI]EREFORP, T3_lmont, Redwood City and San Carlos, for and <br />in consideration of the mutual pro-mises, and agreements herein <br />contained, do agree as follows: <br />Section 3 De f i n i ti. on n <br />Unless the context otherwise requires, the terms defined in <br />1, fj@ i y" !�g "- J III <br />� P , �W , <br />
