( <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY,MAY 5, 1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Fischer, Moran, Piulle and <br /> Redington <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Joe Marchi,Janie Driscoll <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Park & Recreation Superintendent Hartman, Recreation <br /> Supervisor Hannon and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:OOpm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in Room 5 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the April meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -A letter was received from David Irmer regarding the Commission's letter of <br /> April 20 to Gary Ward. Mr. Irmer indicated that his group continues to be <br /> interested in displaying public art at the Sequoia Station. Commissioner <br /> Fischer will contact the sub-committee on public art (Commissioners Ball and <br /> Distefano) to meet and she will also contact Mr. Irmer. <br /> -Chairperson Filippi reviewed a letter he sent to John Capobianco regarding <br /> music selections to be played at their June 21 concert at Stafford Park. <br /> -Chairperson Filippi said he is interested in bringing different types of <br /> musical groups to Redwood City and has contacted various consulates to <br /> obtain information on groups avilable for concerts. He has received <br /> information on several groups for the Commissioners review. <br /> -Commissioner Moran said various mailings have been received including a <br /> newsletter from Paintbrush Diplomacy. <br />
