� <br /> � <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY,JUNE 2, 1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Fischer, Moran, Piulle and <br /> Redington <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Mayor Judy Buchan, Councilwoman Georgi LaBerge, <br /> Councilwoman Daniela Gasparini, Don Saye, Steve <br /> Penna, Bob Distefano, Mary Filippi, 15 winners of the Art <br /> Contest and their families, Assistant Superintendent <br /> Don Gielow, Frank Bravo <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Park & Recreation Superintendent Hartman, Recreation <br /> Supervisor Hannon, Library Supervisor Linda Hedges and <br /> Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:10pm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in the Library Community Room, 1044 <br /> Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The following corrections were made to the May minutes: <br /> -Under Item 6, Children's Art Contest, the abstentions of Commissioners <br /> Distefano and Moran under the motion to join the Art Center were due to <br /> conflict of interest. Both Commissioners are members of the Art Center. <br /> Also Under Item 6, the motion to reinstate a summer concert at Redwood <br /> Shores was seconded by Commissioner Moran. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -A letter was sent to the Director of the Navy Band at Treasure Island to <br /> determine if they were interested in performing during our 1995 Summer <br /> Concert Series. Chairperson Filippi said the Port Commission was interested <br /> in having a concert with a nautical theme to be held at the Port of Redwood <br /> City. <br /> -Letters were also sent to Mr. Berry of the Stanford Jazz Band and Joe White of <br /> Muthers Studio to see if they would be interested in performing during <br /> our 1995 Summer Concert Series. Mr. Berry has contacted Chairperson <br /> Filippi and indicated his inter,est in performing. <br />
