�� � <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY,AUGUST 4, 1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Moran, and Piulle <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Fischer and Redington <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: John Holt, Bob Bunyan, Bob Distefano <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor Julie <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Linda Hedges and Secretary <br /> Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:OOpm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in Room 5 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Chairperson Filippi said Commissioner Redington asked that a clarification <br /> be made to the July minutes under "Announcements". The first paragraph <br /> should indicate that most of the Commissioners were in attendance at the <br /> presentation ceremony of the historic plaque at the Fox Theater. The minutes <br /> of the July meeting were approved as corrected. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -A letter was received from the California Confederation of the Arts thanking <br /> the Commission for their membership payment. <br /> -Announcements and notices were received from various cultural <br /> organizations including a newsletter from the Redwood City Art Center. <br /> -Superintendent Hartman noted several items from the recent California <br /> Arts Advocate publication for the Commissioners attention. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle received an announcement from the Belmont Arts <br /> Council for "Paint in the Park" to be held at 10:30am-4:OOpm at Twin Pines. <br /> ITEM 1 -LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> The following is a list of activities to be held at the Library during August: <br /> August 17 - Senior Health Lecture-"Diabetes and You"-Ruth Breitenbach, <br /> R.N.-10:30am <br /> August 20 - Project READ's 7th Annual BBQ and Awards Ceremony; <br /> 11:OOam-3:OOpm <br />
