'C, . <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL CONIMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1,1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Fischer, Moran, Piulle, and <br /> Redington <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Janie Driscoll, Bob Distefano, Don Saye, Eric Fischer, <br /> Steve Penna, Jim Hartnett, Councilman Paul Sanfilipo <br /> HONORED GUESTS: Port Commissioners Guy Bennett,Jack Castle, <br /> Lewis Miller and Guy Smith <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor Julie <br /> Hannon, and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:05pm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Two corrections were requested to the August minutes. The first correction <br /> was under "Carrington Hall", page 3, second paragraph. A sentence should be <br /> inserted "It was the consensus of the Commission to leave the Carrington <br /> Hall sub-committee under the umbrella of the Cultural Commission. The <br /> second correction was under "Guests Present". The correct spelling should be <br /> Bob Bunyard. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Chairperson Filippi received a response letter from the Israeli Consulate <br /> agreeing to put the Commission on their mailing list in order to notify us of <br /> musical groups from their country who will be performing in the Bay Area. <br /> He mentioned he also sent letters to various other consulates to be placed on <br /> their mailing lists. The Commission could save money by using these groups <br /> if they were already performing in the area. <br /> ITEM 1-PORT COMMISSION RECEPTION/THANK YOU <br /> Chairperson Filippi explained the history of the Cultural Commission's <br /> Concert in the Park Series. He noted that normally five concerts were offered <br /> each summer but that due to the generous grant given by the Port <br />
