A <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Fischer, Moran, Piulle and <br /> Redington <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Councilman Paul Sanfilipo, Bob Distefano, Ken Spicer, <br /> Don Saye, Norma Baldwin of Peninsula Musical Theatre, <br /> Walter Kentzler and Toni Agnone of Vintage Music <br /> Theatre, Sara Salsbury of El Camino Youth Symphony, <br /> Javier Pacheco and Matias Varela of Raices de Mexico <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor Julie <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Linda Hedges and Secretary <br /> Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:OOpm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the regular October 6 meeting and the minutes of the Special <br /> Meeting on October 12 were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Arts Star Award nomination forms were received from the San Mateo <br /> County Arts Council. The deadline for nominations is December 15 and <br /> this matter will be placed on the December agenda. <br /> -A letter to Chairperson Filippi was received from Raices de Mexico, Inc. <br /> regarding the cost to use the Fox Theater. <br /> -A copy of a letter from Peter Bliznick to the Friends of the Fox Theater was <br /> also received by Chairperson Filippi. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle received a newsletter from Neva, a Russian dance <br /> ensemble who will be performing on May 7, 1995 at the Palo Alto Jewish <br /> Center. A copy of the newsletter will be sent to all Commissioners. <br />
