CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MEETING OF THURSDAY,JANUARY 5, 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Filippi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Distefano, Moran, Piulle and Redington <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Fischer <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Elena Mori, Don Saye, Paul Pellegrini <br /> STAFF PRESEN'T: Superintendent Sally Hartman, Recreation Supervisor <br /> Julie Hannon, and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order at <br /> 7:05pm by Chairperson Jeff Filippi in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Piulle asked that a correction be made to the December <br /> minutes under Item 5-Arts Star Awards. The minutes should reflect that <br /> Commissioner Piulle put together the Arts Star nomination packet for the <br /> Commission. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following items were received: <br /> -A flyer from Paintbrush Diplomacy <br /> -A schedule of yearly activities from El Camino Youth Symphony <br /> -An announcement for an exhibit at the Palo Alto Cultural Center <br /> -A list of activities from the San Mateo County Arts Council <br /> -A pamphlet from the University of California at Irvine art administrators. <br /> -A 1995 booklet of touring performing arts groups. <br /> Chairperson Filippi received a letter from John Holt of the Redwood Ctiy <br /> Optimist Club explaining that their organization provided food service at last <br /> year's summer concerts and would like to provide the same service at our <br /> 1995 summer concerts. This matter will be placed on the February agenda. <br /> Chairperson Filippi received a letter from Steve Penna who volunteered to <br /> help on the Carrington Hall Committee. This letter will be forwarded to the <br /> committee. <br /> Chairperson Filippi reviewed an article of Redwood City music student Dana <br /> Leong which appeared in the "Jazz Buff" newsletter. <br />
