CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5,1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Betty Moran, Bob Distefano, Dr. Ricardo Balderas, <br /> Cindy Paulazzo, Laura Baldini, Steve Penna, Carol <br /> Milestone, Nancy Nichols, Alexander Fluker, <br /> Sheryl Corke Fluker <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Sally Hartman, Recreation <br /> Supervisor Julie Hannon, Library Supervisor Linda <br /> Hedges <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:03pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> _ APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the September meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence was received: <br /> -Sequoia High School Celebration information <br /> -El Camino Youth Symphony announcement <br /> -Brochure from the San Mateo Performing Arts Center <br /> -Letter from People from the American Way seeking support for the <br /> prevention of artwork censorship <br /> -A newsletter from the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> -A newsletter from the Sequoia Art Group <br /> -A letter from the San Mateo County Arts Council asking the Cultural <br /> Commission to participate in a workshop for cities interested in forming art <br /> commission. The workshop will be held on Thursday, November 9 from <br /> 8:30am-1:30pm. Chairperson Redington appointed Commissioner Piulle to <br /> participate in the workshop and Commissioner Ball also volunteered to help. <br /> -The Confederation of the Arts sent a letter announcing a meeting to be held <br /> Friday, October 13 in San Francisco. <br /> -A funding packet was received from the San Mateo Arts Council for Music <br /> in the Schools Program. This matter will be placed on the November agenda. <br />
