CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2,1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Henry Use, Angela Kirkner, Betty Moran, Steve Penna, <br /> Ray Doherty, Danny Broome, Patricia Nugent, Dan <br /> Lairon, Mary Filippi <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Sally Hartman, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> T'he regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:05pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Piulle requested the following correction be made to the <br /> minutes of the regular October 5 meeting. Under Item 6, she requested that <br /> the minutes reflect why she voted no to the third motion. The reason was <br /> that she did not agree with the requirement of having complimentary tickets <br /> to sponsored events provided to the Cultural Commissioners. <br /> Commissioner Ball requested that a correction be made under Item 13. The <br /> minutes should state that the City received a grant of $65,000.00 not $6,500.00 <br /> for a tree planting program. The minutes of the October 5 meeting were <br /> approved as corrected. <br /> T'he minutes of the special meeting of October 25 were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> T'he following correspondence was received: <br /> -San Mateo County Arts Council is sponsoring a workshop entitled "How to <br /> Form a Cultural Commission" on November 9 at Twin Pines. <br /> Commissioner Piulle will be a resource person at this event. <br /> -Sequoia Art Group will hold a grand opening on November 17. <br /> -California Confederation of the Arts will be holding a workshop on <br /> November 9 in San Jose. <br /> -A newsletter was received from the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> -Teacher evaluations were received from the Music in the Schools program. <br /> -A letter and brochure was received from Don Warren of Redwood Shores <br /> Inc. <br />
