CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, MAY 4, 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Bob Distefano, Ruth Victorino, Rex Gavin, Rosine <br /> Bena, Joe Steinfeld, Steve Penna, Mary Filippi <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Hedges, Secretary <br /> Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:05pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> Don Saye was given the oath of office and sworn in as a member of the Civic <br /> Cultural Commission. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Piulle asked if a copy of the monthly Library activities sheet <br /> could be attached to the minutes rather than written into the minutes to <br /> decrease the length of the minutes and the Commissioners agreed. The <br /> minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence was received: <br /> -A fundraising letter from the Sequoia Alumni Association <br /> -Open Studios notice from the San Mateo County Arts Council <br /> -A call for artists for the California State Fair, Sacramento <br /> -Peninsula Civic Light Opera events schedule <br /> -National Endowment for the Arts conference packet <br /> -Redwood City Art Center newsletter <br /> -Sequoia Art Group newsletter <br /> Commissioner Filippi announced he had a tape of a Dixieland band for the <br /> Commissioners' review. He also received form letters addressed to State <br /> legislators advocating continued support of the arts. He brought a thank you <br /> letter packet from John Gill School students, parents and teachers thanking <br /> the Commission for its sponsorship of the Music in the Schools program. <br />
