CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,JUNE 1, 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Mayor Daniela Gasparini, Councilpersons Judy <br /> Buchan, Diane Howard and Paul Sanfilipo, Senior <br /> Affairs Commissioner Steve Penna, Jean Cloud, <br /> Bob Distefano, Rosine Bena, the 12 Art Contest <br /> winners and their families, Port Commissioners ° <br /> Guy Bennett and Lewis Miller, Port Executive <br /> Director Mike Giari <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Hedges, Librarian <br /> Casey, Center Coordinator Gonzalez, Secretary <br /> Monroe <br /> T'he regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:10pm in the Library Community Room, <br /> 1044 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Filippi asked that a correction be made to the May minutes <br /> under Item 4, second paragraph on page 6. T'he first sentence should indicate <br /> that "Commissioner Saye" not Commissioner "Filippi" made the statement. <br /> Chairperson Redington asked that a correction be made to the last paragraph <br /> of the minutes. The minutes should reflect that the June 1 meeting was to be <br /> held at the Library Community Room, 1044 Middlefield Road. The May <br /> minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -A letter was received regarding the Oklahoma City Arts Council's annual <br /> fundraising event and a request for donations. <br /> -A letter was received from the California Confederation of the Arts <br /> requesting that people write to their legislators to support funding for the arts. <br /> -A monthly newsletter was received the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> -A letter was received from Ruth Victorino of Hispanos Unidos thanking the <br /> Commission for allowing to her to make a presentation at the May 4 meeting <br /> and that she may want to come to a future meeting to request funding. <br />
