, <br /> � <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,AUGUST 3, 1995 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: John Holt, Henry Use, Mitchell Klein, Bob <br /> Distefano, Steve Penna, Ginny Hughes, Pete <br /> Hughes <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Hartman, Recreation Supervisor <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Hedges, Secretary <br /> Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:08pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioner Piulle asked that a correction be made to the July minutes <br /> under "Announcements". T'he third sentence of the second paragraph <br /> should read that Commissioner Piulle did not want to have a contest among <br /> children but would rather solicit input from high school students. <br /> The minutes of the July meeting were approved as corrected. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence was received: <br /> -A letter was received from the Mayor and City Council stating that the Fox <br /> Theater Ad Hoc Committee has been officially disbanded and thanked <br /> everyone who participated. <br /> -A notice was received from California Confederation of the Arts asking <br /> people to write letters of support for funding to the California Arts Council. <br /> -A newsletter from the Peninsula Civic Light Opera. <br /> -An announcement from the Palo Alto Cultural Center events. <br /> -A letter from Cathy Somerton thanking the Commission for their <br /> sponsorship of Families Arts Day and expressing her pleasure with the event. <br /> Commissioner Piulle announced the New Century Brass Benefit Concert to <br /> be held on Saturday, September 23, 1995 at 7:30pm at the Fox Theater. Tickets <br /> will be $12.50 each and will benefit the Redeemer Lutheran Education Aid <br /> Fund. <br />
