CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,jANUARY 4, 199b <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Filippi, Fischer, Piulle and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Distefano <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Pat Nugent, Sara Salsbury, Mary Filippi <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Sally Hartman., Library Supervisor <br /> Linda Hedges and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:08pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the December meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence was received: <br /> -Concert program from Unitarian Church of Redwood City <br /> -Announcement of a chamber music program on january 21 at Unitarian <br /> Church of Redwood City <br /> -New Year's card from artist David Putnam <br /> -Annual program from Peninsula Center Stage <br /> -Newsletter from the California Confederation of the Arts <br /> -Commissioner Piulle received a flyer for public art publications and <br /> suggested the Commission purchase one regarding public art. <br /> Superintendent Hartman suggested also purchasing a community cultural <br /> arts planning kit. She will order both books for the Commission's use. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi received a video tape of the recent performance of the <br /> Chinese delegation at Canada College and the Veterans Senior Center and <br /> gave it to the the Commissioners for their review. <br /> He also mentioned the Peninsula Symphony will be having concer;s on <br /> january 14 at the Flint Center and on January 19 at the San Mateo Performing <br /> Arts Center. The tickets are $11.00 each and are available from Rosine Bena. <br />
