CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,OCTOBER 3, 1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Piulle, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Britschgi, Distefano, Filippi, Redington, <br /> and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Danny Broome, Dr. Ricardo Balderas, Barbara Pierce, <br /> Steven Alvarez, Carol Marks, Nancy Oliver, Elena Mori, Lua Hadar, Park & <br /> Recreation Commissioners Don Davis and Ed Nordness, Historic Resources <br /> Advisory Board Member Helen Graves <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Tamara Piulle at 7:OOpm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Commissioners Distefano requested an addition to Item 2 of the September <br /> minutes stating that there was a dialog exchange between she and Peter <br /> Bliznick concerning the treatxnent of professional groups and non- <br /> professional groups at the Fox Theater. The minutes of the September <br /> meeting were approved as corrected. <br /> ITEM 1 -LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> Supervisor Celia LaRiviere was unable to attend this evening's meeting. The <br /> list of Library October events are attached to the minutes. Superintendent <br /> Centeno announced Project READ'S 8th Annual Trivia Bee will be held <br /> Friday,October 11 at Canada College. <br /> ITEM 2- HISTORIC RESOURCES ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> PRESENTATION OF PROPOSAL FOR HISTORIC EXHIBIT AT THE NEW <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC) Member Helen Graves <br /> stated the HRAC would like the Cultural Commission's input on the concept <br /> of developing a site for a historic exhibit in the new City Hall. She spoke <br /> about the HRAC's booklet of historic places in Redwood City that it will be <br /> provided to the middle schools for use in their local history curriculum. <br />
