CIVIC CULTURAL CONiMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,MARCH 7, 1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Piulle, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Distefano, Filippi, Fischer, Redington and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Charles Jany, Elena Mori, Karen LaTorra, Sandy Stewart, <br /> Paul Sanfilipo, Steve Penna, CorieAnn Hill-Gasca <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Sally Hartman, Supervisor Julie <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisors Linda Hedges and <br /> Celia LaRiviere <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Tamara Piulle at 7:OOpm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the February meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence was received: <br /> -NEA Arts Advocacy Day <br /> -El Camino Youth Symphony performance at College of Notre Dame <br /> -Monthly newsletter from Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> -Peninsula Civic Light Opera schedule of events <br /> -Redwood City Educational Foundation announcement stating they held an <br /> art contest and the winning drawings were selected to appear on cards <br /> available for sale; a reception for the young artists will be held on March 27 at <br /> 7pm at the Redwood City Art Center. <br /> -A packet of information was received on City of Pasadena arts programs. <br /> ITEM 1-LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> The Commissioners presented a proclamation to Supervisor Linda Hedges <br /> thanking her for her service to the Civic Cultural Commission. Supervisor <br /> Hedges introduced Celia LaRiviere who will be the new Library liaison to the <br /> Commission. Supervisor Hedges spoke about several grants the Library is <br /> seeking. A copy of the Library activities for March are attached. <br />
