CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY,JULY 11,1996 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Piulle, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Britschgi, Filippi, Redington and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Distefano <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Henry Use, Pat Nugent,John Holt, Rosine Bena <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Supervisor Julie <br /> Hannon, Library Supervisor Celia LaRiviere, and <br /> Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Tamara Piulle at 7:04pm Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the Special Meeting of May 23 were approved as mailed. <br /> Chairperson Piulle requested the following corrections to the minutes of <br /> June 6: On page 3, Item 3, delete the words "for the All for One Program"; <br /> on page 7, second paragraph, third sentence should say that although the <br /> newspaper did print Commissioner Saye's article on the "King & I", they <br /> revised the article and deleted information as a result. The June minutes <br /> were approved as corrected. <br /> ITEM 1- PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO PAT <br /> NUGENT <br /> Chairperson Piulle thanked Pat Nugent for her outstanding cultural art <br /> efforts in the schools and with PACTAC and presented her with a certificate <br /> of appreciation on behalf of the Commission. <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 3-ACTION ON CULTURAL GRANTS <br /> -Optimist Club for Climate Best Fest Support <br /> John Holt of the Optimist Club explained the monies requested will fund <br /> children's entertainment and music for this year's Climate Best Fest. <br /> Chairperson Piulie asked Mr. Holt for an accounting of the $2,000 which was <br /> granted for last year's festival and he agreed to provide one to the <br /> Commission.
