CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1997 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Ball, Commissioners <br /> Distefano, Piulle, Redington, and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Britschgi <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Bill Anderson, John Holt, Bob Slusser, Beverly <br /> Schutz-Morgan, Bill McKenna, Loretta Knight, Leo Walsh <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Library Supervisor <br /> Celia LaRiviere <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Virginia Ball at 7:05pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the October meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner Distefano reviewed various newsletters and correspondence <br /> received by the Commission including: <br /> -A letter from City Manager Ed Everett to Chairperson Ball regarding art in <br /> the new City hall. The Commission's Public Art Committee, Chaired by <br /> Commissioner Piulle, will provide input on this matter. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Leo Walsh, Chairperson of the Senior Affairs Commission, invited the <br /> Commissioners to attend a lunch program they are sponsoring to assist <br /> restaurants in downtown Redwood City. The luncheon will be held on <br /> Tuesday, November 18 at 1 :15pm at 2030 Restaurant. Police Chief Carlos <br /> Bolanos will be the guest speaker. <br /> ITEM 1 — LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> Library Supervisor Celia LaRiviere reported on library programs for the month <br /> of November. A copy of the November library activities is attached to the <br /> minutes. <br /> ITEM 2 — GRANT REQUESTS <br /> -Vintage Music Theater <br /> Bill McKenna from Vintage Music Theater shared flyers for their Memory <br /> Lane Tea Dance entitled "Deck the Halls" from which any profits would go to <br /> the Carrington Hall Restoration Fund. He noted that the planned program <br /> with Martha Egert would cost at least 54,000. If less money was made <br />
