CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, MARCH 6,1997 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Ball, Commissioner <br /> Britschgi, Distefano, Filippi, Piulle, Redington, and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Eddie Rosenstiel, Helen Graves, Francis Hutchinson, <br /> jean Cloud <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Virginia Ball at 7:05pm in Room 4 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the February meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner Distefano reviewed a variety of correspondence related to <br /> upcoming cultural events along with: <br /> -A letter received from the Peninsula Center Stage who indicated that their <br /> Board of Directors endorsed the concept of having students attend a <br /> production at the Fox Theater. The Commissioners requested that a copy of <br /> the letter be given to each of them. <br /> -A letter was received from the Peninsula Civic Light Opera addressed to the <br /> City Council. This San Mateo-based organization is seeking support from <br /> Redwood City in the amount of $1,500.00. <br /> M/S Filippi/Saye: : To send a letter to the Peninsula Civic Light Opera <br /> stating that the Commission's funding program is limited to Redwood <br /> City performances but that funding could be considered at a later time <br /> if they were to have a performance in Redwood City. <br /> Motion passed. <br />
