CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 1997 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Ball, Commissioner <br /> Britschgi, Distefano, Filippi, Redington (arrived 7:08pm), <br /> and Saye (arrived 7:lOpm) <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Piulle <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Norm Shapiro, David McClure, Matias Varela, Merrily <br /> Robinson, Margarita Mendez, Edna Acri, Stephanie Pearson, Magda <br /> Gonzalez, Park & Recreation Commissioner Bob Slusser <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Virginia Ball at 7:OOpm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the March meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner Distefano reviewed a variety of correspondence related to <br /> upcoming cultural events. In addition: <br /> -The Commission acknowledged their receipt of response from the City <br /> Attorney regarding the use of religious property for City funded cultural <br /> programs. <br /> -The Commission deferred comment on the Port response of 3-4-97 to the <br /> Summer Concert Subcommittee report. <br /> M/S Redington/Distefano: To approve a letter commending the Sequoia Key <br /> Club on their recent dance benefiting the Carrington Hall Restoration <br /> Fund. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 1-LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> Library Supervisor Celia LaRivere reviewed the activities being held at the <br /> Library during the month of April and highlighted several upcoming events <br /> in honor of National Library Week. The Library events flyer for April is <br /> attached to the minutes. <br />
