CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Thursday, March 5, 1998 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Ball, Commissioners Britschgi, <br /> and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Distefano and Redington <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Virginia Ball at 7:10pm in Room 1 of the Community Activities <br /> Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, Califomia. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/ S Britschgi/Saye: To approve the minutes of the Commission's January <br /> meeting with the following correction: Item 4, Sub Committee Reports, <br /> Youth and Special Events should read, "Commissioner Britschgi <br /> announced that the Art Center is considering a fundraising event in <br /> conjunction with the Carrington Hall Restoration Committee. She noted <br /> that the San Mateo County Historical Museum has raised a little over half <br /> of the $3 million dollars needed.° <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The Commission received the following correspondence: <br /> -A request to renew membership in the San Mateo County Arts Council; the <br /> Commissioners decided to renew their membership. <br /> -A letter and packet of information from Joe Marchi advising them that their joint <br /> sponsorship of an event with the Center for the American Musical netted the <br /> Commission $892.00. <br /> -A press release on the opening of the Peninsula Center Stage Production of Big <br /> River. <br /> -An update on KOLLAGE Programs in the schools. <br /> The Commission also received newsletters from the San Mateo County Arts <br /> Council, the Sequoia Art Group, the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. They <br /> also received information on upcoming events at College of Notre Dame, <br /> programs of the EI Camino Youth Symphony, the Peninsula Symphony, and the <br /> Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Dance benefiting the Carrington Hall <br /> Restoration Project. <br />
