�� <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 1998 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Ball, Commissioners Britschgi, <br /> Distefano, Redington and Saye <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Paul Sanfilipo, Chalis Wahl <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairpgrson Virginia Ball at 7:03p.m. in Room 1y,f the Community Activities <br /> Buildin , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood Cit California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Saye/Britschgi: To approve the minutes of the March meeting as <br /> mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Paul Sanfilipo stated that the March minutes contained erroneous information <br /> under "Sub-Committee Reports; Youth and Special Events" where it was <br /> noted that the Redwood City Art Center had cancelled its plans for a <br /> downtown art fair. Mr. Sanfilipo explained that no decision has yet been <br /> made regarding the event. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Commissioner Distefano reviewed various newsletters, announcements of <br /> upcoming cultural events and correspondence received by the Commission <br /> including: the notice of the upcoming City Council meeting regarding <br /> Stafford and Stulsaft Parks, and noting her enjoyment of the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center Newsletter. <br /> ITEM 1 - LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> Superintendent Centeno spoke for Library Supervisor Celia LaRiviere who <br /> was absent and reviewed the Library's April calendar of activities which <br /> included the Annual Book Sale and National Library Week activities. <br /> ITEM 2 - DISCUSSION OF UPCOMING STUDY SESSION WITH CITY <br /> COUNCIL AND BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Superintendent Centeno noted that each Commissioner had received the <br /> exerpts from the Council meeting regarding the proposal for a Committee to <br /> review the current configuration of the Departments Boards and <br /> Commissions. The Council decided to begin a series of ineetings with each <br />
