CIV(C CULTURAL COM�PIISSION <br /> 1V�INUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1999 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners Dei <br /> Cario, Pierce, and Schenone <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Britschgi, Dale, Saye <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:21 pm in Room 5 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 7:22pm for refreshments honoring <br /> Commissioner Barbara Pierce who was elected to the City Council; this will <br /> be her last meeting with the Commission. <br /> The meeting was called back to order at 7:40pm. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Del Carlo/Pierce: To approve the October minutes with the foltowing <br /> change: On Page 1 under Approval of Minutes, the name of the family who <br /> donated the Otis Carrington picture was "Behrens". <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Chairperson Redington reported the thank you letter for the Behrens family <br /> art donation should be sent to Mrs. Lynwood Gaskin, P.O.Box 637, Carnelian <br /> Bay, California. <br /> Superintendenf Centeno stated she spoke with Bill McKenna of Vintage <br /> Music Theatre regarding their performance and they cannot locate another <br /> venue for their event. The amount of their grant will be decreased by <br /> $500.00 due to this change. � <br /> Superintendent Centeno reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -EI Camino Youth Symphony will be having a concert on November 7 at <br /> Messiah Lutheran Church. <br /> -A newsletter from the Sequoia Art Group. <br /> -A letter from School Superintendent Ron Crates thanking the Commission <br /> for its recent grant to Northstar Academy. <br /> ITEM 1 — ART CONTEST APPROVAL OF THEME AND TIMELINE <br /> Superintendent Centeno handed out a timeline to the Commissioners for next <br /> year's art contest. She explained the dates were moved up so there will be <br />
