CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2000 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Britschgi, Commissioners Dale, <br /> Del Carlo, Douglas, Soultanian <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Bal) and Kushin <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Oliver Redington, Don Saye, Pete Hughes, Erin Raiser <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe, Manager Jan Knight <br /> Chairperson Britschgi presented plaques to former Commissioners Oliver <br /> Redington and Don Saye for their service on the Civic Cultural Commission. <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Barbara Britschgi at 7:OOpm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Douglas/Del Carlo: To approve the September minutes as <br /> mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The Commissioners received a letter from the Peninsula Ballet Theatre School <br /> stating they would be unable to use their $1,500 grant for a perFormance at <br /> Carrington Hall this winter. <br /> The following correspondence received: <br /> -A thank you letter from the Sequoia Alumni Association for the <br /> Commission's donation to the Carrington Hall Restoration Project <br /> -Newsletters from Kollage and Sequoia Art Group <br /> -Arts education program guide from Young Audiences of the Bay Area <br /> -Concert announcements from EI Camino Youth Symphony and Redwood <br /> Symphony <br /> ITEM 1 — SMALL GRANT REQUESTS <br /> -Casa de Redwood <br /> Peter Hughes explained that Casa de Redwood is a HUD low income facility <br /> for seniors and has 155 residents. He stated that the grant of $500.00 will <br /> provide two winter concerts to be held at the Casa de Redwood facility and <br />
