CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2000 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Britschgi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Kushin, and Soultanian <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Dale, Del Carlo, and Douglas <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Kathy Heffernan, Greg Niemeyer <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Manager Jan Knight, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Barbara Britschgi at 7:03pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Soultanian/Kushin: To approve the November minutes as <br /> mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Secretary Monroe reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -2001 performance calendar for EI Camino Youth Symphony <br /> -Newsletter from Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> -EI Camino Youth Symphony Holiday Concerts on December 10 and 17. <br /> -Video tape from John Gill School of last year's California history show <br /> -Peninsula Youth Orchestra Winter Concerts on December 10 <br /> -Newsletter from Sequoia Art Group <br /> -Request for public art from the City of Ventura <br /> ITEM 1 — SMALL GRANT REQUESTS <br /> Kathy Heffernan of the San Mateo County Historical Association spoke <br /> regarding their grant request of $500.00. She stated that since the grant <br /> application was prepared, it has been determined that the food budget is <br /> $2,000 more than projected. Total budget for the two events will be <br /> $3,805.00. <br /> M/S Ball/Kushin: To grant $999.00 to the San Mateo Historical <br /> Association. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br />
