CtVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2000 <br /> � „ � . .�a.. <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chau ersan- �� <br /> Britsck�igi, Dale, DegCarlo��lS��� w �� <br /> . #�ed}n <br /> and Schenone T <br /> (ariiv.�d-7:17prr� . <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Saye <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: None <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe _ <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:04pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, Calif�rnia. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES . . <br /> The following corrections were made to the January minutes: <br /> -Under Item 1, the motion was passed, but not unanimously passed; the vote <br /> was 5-yes, 1-no. <br /> -Under Item 3, Chairperson Redington did not attend the memorial service for <br /> Karl Vollmayer. <br /> M/S Britschgi/Dale: To approve the January minutes as corrected. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Superintendent Centeno reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -Invitation to attend an exhibit at Nimbus at 2363 Broadway featuring stone <br /> sculpture; the exhibit will be on display through March 21. <br /> -Letter from the Nonprofit Finance Fund <br /> -College of Notre Dame Spring Concert schedule <br /> -Newsletters from Fun After Fifty, Sequoia Art Group, and Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center. <br /> -A letter was received from Peter Bliznick of Peninsula Center Stage (PCS) <br /> regarding their postponed December production of "Mame" which will be <br /> presented in March at Carrington Hall. Mr. Bliznick explained that PCS will <br /> not be able to use 510,000 of their 534,000 grant for Fiscal Year1999-2000 <br /> because they are decreasing the number of productions during 2000 from 3 <br /> to 2. Mr. Bliznick also noted that renting Carrington Hall for "Mame" has <br /> increased their operating expenses, including rental costs of $8,385.75. He <br /> asked to come to the March Commission rr�eeting tp request additional <br /> funding to help with the added expenses. Chairperson Redington agreed to <br /> call Mr. Bliznick to invite him to the March meeting and to have him complete <br /> � a funding application for his request. <br />
