She explained
that PCS is not using the previously approved S 10,000 grant from the
Commission for their original March performance. Due to the move to
Carrington Hall, they now have a facility rental fee of 58,385.00 which was
not a budgeted item. As a result, PCS is now applying for a grant for
58,385.00 to cover the cost of the facility rental.
Commissioner Saye said he has received comments from the downtown
merchants asking why PCS is asking for a grant to cover the cost of
Carrington Hall facility rental. Ms. Watson explained that litigation is the
reason why PCS cannot pay for the rental costs. Ms. Immekeppel explained
that none of the $30,000 granted by the Commission to PCS for fiscal year
1999-2000 has been paid to them.
-John Gil{ School
Lua Hadar spoke about her request for 5999.00 to help fund the cost of a
professional band which will accompany the "Letters from Old California"
show performed by 4th grade John Gill students. She explained the show
will include music, dancing and oral presentations. Cost estimates from the
Ron Borelli Band were: $1 ,230 for a two piece band and S 1,620 for a three
piece band. Ms. Hadar stated that John Gill Principal Todd Gaviglio has
indicated that the school would be able to cover the cost difference.
