CIYIC CULTUR�IL COMMISSYON <br /> MY 'UTES OF THURSDAY, �ULY 6, 2000 <br /> COM�ISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Redington, Commissioners Del <br /> Carlo, Saye (arrived 7:22pm), and Schenone <br /> CO 'MISSIONERS ABSE�IT: Commissioners Britschgi and Dale <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Elizabeth Travers, Katherine Delfts, Eddie Rosenstiel, <br /> Shirley Masters, Dr. Ken Graham <br /> STAFF P1tESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Oliver Redington at 7:35pm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> PPROVAL OF MI U'TES <br /> The following corrections were made to the June minutes: <br /> -Under Item 1, the motions to grant funds to NorthStar Academy and Kollage <br /> were not in the minutes. Under NorthStar Academy presentation, their <br /> planned productions are "Macbeth" and "Oliver" and the grant request will <br /> fund the salaries of the instructors for both productions. Under Redwood <br /> Symphony presentation, this year's grant request was for $6,100.00. <br /> M/5 Schenone/Saye: To approve the ]une minutes as torrected. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Revised minutes for June will be mailed out to the Commissioners. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Superintendent Centeno reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -A letter from Don Saye to the City Council advising them he would not be <br /> re-applying to the Cultural Commission, <br /> -Newsletters from the Peninsula Civic Light Opera and Happy Time Banjos <br /> ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Elizabeth Travers, 27 Lowell Street, spoke about her concerns about Stafford <br /> Park and the concert series held there. She stated that a meeting was held <br /> on June 21 with Stafford Park neighbors and staff to discuss various issues <br /> surrounding the park including traffic, parking, and high usage. She said the <br /> park has become extremely busy and is being used by people from other <br />
