CI"N�'�C CULTUR�IL COMMI�S�'ON <br /> MINUT�S OF THURSDAY, �EPTEMBER 7, 2000 <br /> COM YSSIOIVERS PRESENT: Vice Chairperson Britschgi, Commissioners <br /> Ball, Dale, Del Carlo, Douglas, Kushin, <br /> Soultanian <br /> CO�MISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Gary Lepori, Erin Raiser <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise <br /> Monroe, Manager]an Knight <br /> Superintendent Centeno administered the oath of office to Vlrginia Bail, Brian <br /> Douglas, Frank Kushin, and Denise Souitanian as new Civic Cuitural <br /> Commissioners. <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by Vice <br /> Chairperson Barbara Britschgi at 7:05pm in Room i of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> M/S Dale/Del Carlo: To approve the August minutes as mailed. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Secretary Monroe reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -Newsletter from the Redwood Symphony <br /> -Newsletter from the Veterans Memoriai Senior Center <br /> -Arts education program guide from Young Audiences of the Bay Area <br /> ITEM 1 — SMALL GRANT R�QUESTS <br /> -Pride & Beautification Committee <br /> Gary Lepori of the Pride & Beautification Committee (PBC) explained that <br /> they are looking for funding to produce postcards featuring Redwood City to <br /> help promote civic pride. He stated that PBC sponsored a postcard contest <br /> earlier this year and six winners and six honorable mention pieces were <br /> selected. Mr. Lepori presented a display board featuring all winning entries <br /> for the Commissioners to review. The PBC plans to use the art work from the <br /> six winning entries to produce postcards featuring Redwood City locations. <br /> The postcards will be distributed to various retail locations throughout the <br />
