CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2001 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Britschgi, Commissioners Ball, <br /> Dale, Douglas, Kushin, and Soultanian <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Del Carlo <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Veronica Velez, ]uan Carlos Prado, Dave Redfern <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Manager Linda Griffith, <br /> Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> The meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was called to order by <br /> Chairperson Barbara Britschgi at 7:OOpm in Room 1 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVALOFMINUTES <br /> Commissioner Dale requested a correction to the February minutes under <br /> Item 3 Sub-Committee Reports, Children and Schools, first sentence. The <br /> word "donation" should be replaced with the words "a sponsored excursion". <br /> M/S Dale/Douglas: To approve the February minutes as corrected. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The following correspondence received: <br /> -A thank you note from Lua Hadar thanking the Commission for the grant of <br /> $2,000 to help fund the California History Show at John Gill School. She also <br /> provided the Commissioners with tickets to "The Math Show" on March 26 <br /> and "The American Revolution: Taking a Stand" on March 5. <br /> -A memo and flyer from Michael Giari of the Port Commission advertising the <br /> Port of Redwood City's Tall Ships Photo Contest. <br /> -Newsletter from the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> -Newsletter from the Sequoia Art Group <br /> -Notice of Redwood Symphony performance on April 1 at Canada College <br /> -Notice of EI Camino Youth Symphony on March 10 and 11 at local churches <br /> -Memo from City Planner Tom Passanisi inviting the Commission to attend a <br /> Planning Commission meeting where they will discuss the General Plan <br /> update process. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:30pm in <br /> Council Chambers. <br /> Commissioner Ball received a note from Bill McKenna of Vintage Music <br /> Theatre stating they need additional grant funds of $500.00 in order to have <br />
