7.2.A. - Page 23 <br /> Exhibit "C" <br /> Inspection and Maintenance Checklist <br /> Bio- Retention Area <br /> Bio- retention areas shall be Inspected monthly for: <br /> Obstructions and trash <br /> Ponded water. if ponded water is observed, the surface soils shall be <br /> removed and replaced with sand. <br /> ® The use of pesticides and quick - release synthetic fertilizers shall not be <br /> used. <br /> ® Soils and plantings must be maintained, including routine pruning, <br /> replenishment of mulch and weeding. Mulch replacement should be done <br /> prior to the start of the wet season. <br /> • Erosion at inflow, outflow and overflow points must be repaired. <br /> ® A biannual health evaluation of the trees and shrubs and subsequent <br /> removal of any dead or diseased vegetation. Diseased vegetation should <br /> be treated as needed using preventative and low -toxic measures to the <br /> extent possible. <br /> • Inspections for invasive aggressive plant species such as cattails, which <br /> increase the chances of water standing and subsequent vector production. <br /> Media Filtration Vault <br /> ▪ Media filter system shall be inspected once a year. Kristar Enterprises, <br /> Inc. provides an inspection service. Contact manufacturer for actual fees. <br /> • Media filter cartridges shall be replaced once a year. Kristar Enterprises, <br /> Inc. provides a cartridge replacement service. Contact manufacturer for <br /> actual fees. <br /> • Routine removal of trash and debris. <br /> • Routine check of any vector production. <br /> • In general, maintenance activities and frequencies are specific to the <br /> product.
