EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES CONSULTANTS'DUTIES: 1. Consultant shail screen, hire, pay, and supervise qualified swimming coaches and lifeguards certified by national life-saving and/or swimming instructor associations to wooric at City's Hoover Swimming Pooi (in pool, on pool deck, and within the buildingj during aA times that City swim programs are in operation at Hoover Swimming Pool. 2. Consultant shall operate the pooi during designated hours to include aquatic programming that wiil include recreational swim time for residents. 3. Cansuftant shali be responsible for opening and ciosing the Hflover Swimming Poo! and shall take direction for operation of Hoover Swimming Pool from Parks Director or his or her designee. 4. Consultant wiU use keys issusd duri�g the Term of the Agreement per direction of the Parlcs and Recreation Department, and will pay for any lost keys and/or rekeying of the Hoover Swimming Pool if deemed necessary to regain security of the facility. All keys issued to Consultant will be retumed at the termination af this Agreement. If keys are not retumed Consultant wiN be charged for the costs incurred to City for replacement and/or rekeying. 5. Consuitant will not be responsible for any costs outside the norma! operating expenses of the poai including but may be responsible for any equipment repairs, pool repairs and facility repairs based on improper use or other causing factors for ConsultanYs staff. 6. The hours of operation for Hoover Swimming Pool which shall be operated by Consuttant are 3:OOp.m.-8:OOp.m., Monday,Wednesday, and Friday. 7. Consultant shall not access pool mechanical room unless for emergency shut-off purposes. Consultant shall notify City's Building Maintenance staff for all facilities-related failures(including, but not limited to, mechanical,electrical and/or plumbing)for instructions. 8. Consultant agrees to strictiy adfisre to Ciry's daily chedclist and prevent cheGclist of items before d�e Hoover Swimming Pool is opened each day fo� use. City shall provide checklists to Consuitant. All records are to be maintained on binders/clipboards in the basketroom at all times. CITY'S DUTIES: 1. City agrees to maintain the Hoover Swimming Pool to meet water quality standards requ+red for swimming. This includes the payment to PG8�E for monthiy servioe and any chemica!aosts. 2. City shall provide a telephone to Consultant for emergency use. 3. City shall provide use of Hoover Swimming Pool to Consultant in a clean and safe condition. 4. City agrees to allow Consuitant to store pool equipment including paddles, buoys, timing ciocks, kickboards, fins and spin trainers at Hoover pool in an area agreed to by City. Spin trainers are allowed on the �oo{ deck during workouts; however no power cords (per San Mateo County Health Qepartment)are aAowed on the pool deck.
