Proclamation - In Recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month- <br /> Diane Dworkin, South County, Community Service Area (CSA) Manager <br /> with the San Mateo County Health Department - Jeffrey Gee, Mayor <br /> Mayor Gee provided the proclamation to Ms. Dworkin and thanked her for all the <br /> awareness and the work the County of San Mateo does. He noted how important <br /> accessibility to resources can be and he believes this is a great opportunity to enhance <br /> awareness. Ms. Dworkin thanked Mayor Gee and the City Council on behalf of the <br /> County of San Mateo for this recognition since mental health is so prevalent. She <br /> shared some statistics and was extremely grateful for this opportunity that "one step of a <br /> time" will transform how we look at mental health issues. <br /> B. Recognizing Davey Trees' Contributions to the Community -de#�Jess <br /> Running, Manager of Davey Trees Expert Company at Menlo Park -Jeffrey <br /> Gee, Mayor <br /> Mayor Gee invited Mr. Running with Davey Trees and presented him with a certificate of <br /> recognition for all his contributions to our community. He noted that Redwood City <br /> cherishes our trees and Mr. Running have been true partners in cleaning up Union <br /> Cemetery and planted large trees at Sequoia High School where on a rainy day they <br /> planted large trees thanks to the generosity of Ira Ruskin. Mr. Running said that he is <br /> grateful to have partnered on some really great projects and he looks forward to more. <br /> 6. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Beth Mostovoy shared the unveiling of the second annual T-shirt contest winner for the <br /> summer events. Phiyen Nguyen is the winner who designed the winning T-shirt and on <br /> behalf of the Parks Foundation, Pamela Estes presented him with a $250 check and <br /> Ms. Mostovoy, on behalf of University Art, presented him with a $250 gift certificate. Mr. <br /> Nguyen expressed his thanks. Ms. Mostovoy also expressed thanks in advance for <br /> everyone working together on the Utility Box program, saying it will be a win-win-win in <br /> dealing with graffiti. <br /> Mayor Gee thanked all involved and said he looks forward to seeing lots of T-shirts <br /> around town. <br /> Keith Bautista, a resident since 1951, said he came before Council last year with ideas <br /> on how to promote water conservation. He had shared incentives through a rebate <br /> program, but he said he checked and no progress has been made. He shared <br /> examples of other cities that have rebate/incentive programs that help with water <br /> conservation. <br /> Mayor Gee referred this matter to the Council's Utilities Committee. Council Member <br /> Pierce mentioned that online there is a Lawn Be Gone program where people are paid <br /> to transform their lawns.
