7.1.F. - Page 15 <br /> RESOLUTION No. 15360 DENYING THE APPEAL FILED BY CAROL AND <br /> NICHOLAS BERG, APPLICANTS FOR THE CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY PROJECT <br /> PROPOSED AT 2323-2325 EUCLID AVENUE, AND UPHOLDING THE <br /> FEBRUARY 4, 2014 PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS IN CONNECTION <br /> WITH THE CERTIFICATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT AND <br /> DENIAL OF THE USE PERMIT FOR THE CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY PROJECT <br /> M/S Foust/Aguirre to deny the project and deny the appeal of Cambridge Academy, <br /> upholding the decision of the Planning Commission to deny the appeal in connection with <br /> the Certification of the Environmental Impact Report, not approving the statement of <br /> overriding considerations, and denying the Use Permit for the Cambridge Academy <br /> Project. Motion carries unanimously by electronic vote. <br /> 9. STAFF REPORT(S) - None. <br /> 10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Reports of Conferences Attended <br /> Council Member Aguirre reported on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the <br /> suicide deterrence system on the Golden Gate Bridge. She said that it was an <br /> accomplishment that they are finally putting the barrier up. <br /> Council Member Pierce said that she and Council Member Bain attended a webinar on <br /> Climate Change and Civic Engagement. They will bring back some information and <br /> thought what was said was applicable to Redwood City. <br /> Mayor Gee announced that tomorrow night there will be a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. to <br /> discuss a major initiative of replacing Woodside/101. Also, he reported on a press <br /> release that came out about Mind Mixer, a new technology tool. In addition, the North Fair <br /> Oaks Community celebration will be coming up in August. <br /> The Mayor also said that he hoped that everyone enjoyed the Fourth of July, especially <br /> the fireworks that were privately funded. Lastly, he announced that on August 11th <br /> PG& E is celebrating California's State Digging Day. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update <br /> Dr. Bell reported out on the Closed Session Real Property Negotiations, and he received <br /> direction to move forward on the negotiations. Also, the City Attorney got direction on a <br /> legal matter. <br /> D. City Attorney Report from Closed Session <br /> 11. ADJOURN — The meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. Mayor Gee adjourned in <br /> memory of Ira Ruskin, former Mayor, Council Member and Assembly Member.
